Stop buying what you don't want to eat

The best commitment device you could possible implement is NOT buying the foods that challenge your willpower.

If a red light food is not in your house you are significantly less likely to eat it. Not having it readily available every time you open the pantry, freezer, or fridge means you’ll have to go out of your way to get your hands on these foods and more often than not… you won’t do that.

If you can’t control yourself around Costco sized bags of chips, popcorn,

or candy, stop buying them. Instead, find desserts/treats that are wrapped as single servings. You’re far less susceptible to opening up a second bag of popcorn or a second ice cream bar than you are overeating a red light food where YOU are the one building your serving size.

It’s time to let go of the, “I buy it for my kids and spouse” excuse. They deserve to be free from these temptations as well and everyone can benefit from learning proper portions.

Make life easier on you and your family. If the goal is to improve your and your family’s nutrition then do yourself a favor and make the foods you SHOULD be eating easily accessible and the foods you need to limit HARD to over indulge on.
