BONE BROTH
Bone Broth! Can you fit it in your macros? Will it blow your fat numbers? Not if you make it our way!
Here’s the method:
1 cup skimmed bone broth 1 TBS lite coconut milk 1 tsp turmeric 1/2 tsp hymalan salt 1/2 tsp black pepper 1 tsp fresh or ground ginger Garnish with scallions, parsley, or cilantro
Heat the bone broth then:
Add all ingredient except green herbs to a blender (could be a vitamix, ninja, bullet, smoothie blender)
Emulsify until the mixture is frothy and foamy. Pour into a mug and top with more pepper and fresh herbs if you wish.
It tastes like a soup or broth but feels like a latte! You can purchase bone broth in many natural food stores now but if you make your own we suggest roasting about 1lb of bones first at 450 degrees until toasty and brown. Add bones to an IP, crock pot, or soup pot. Add about 1 gallon on water. Add vegetables and spices if you wish. Cook for 18-24 hours. Remove the bones, let the broth cool, skim as much of the fat off as you can. Then portion out and drink within a week or freeze for up to 3 months. If you buy bone broth you can easily scan into MFP for the macros....if you make it homemade then search for pork or beef or chicken bone broth in MFP and there are some great options for macros on this homemade method.
